PURPOSE:

  • The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of the relationship between Visa and designated existing and prospective clients with a focus on business growth and client satisfaction.   Implement Visa s country & business development strategies, objectives and plans for designated clients in order to achieve Visa s business targets through growth in existing business and through identifying new sales/business opportunities for Visa including the introduction and implementation of new products and services. Grow incremental Visa business in client portfolios by launching new Visa products and services as well as leveraging usage and activation of cards. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Contribute to the development of the business development strategy.
    • Ensure the development of individual designated clients business development plans, with corresponding tactics and actions to achieve set goals.
    • Ensure that appropriate planning takes place to enrol clients in bespoke or national marketing campaigns, product launches, Debit and Credit Initiatives.   Assess efficiency and cost-effectiveness of these campaigns and ensure sufficient yields, returns on client portfolio
    • Monitor the development of the banking and financial services industry across the region, analyse trends and understand factors impacting current and potential business results of VISA.  Monitor, analyse and develop/respond to Visa s competitors strategies. 
  • Business Development & Relationship Management:
    • Establish, develop and manage the relationship between VISA and designated clients, industry representatives in-country such as Central Banks, Governments, Bankers Association and Media.
    • Establish, develop and manage relationships in-country with Vendors, Processors and Domestic Switches
    • Identify new business development opportunities and manage projects/programs/launches to successful implementation.  Focus on achieving business targets through growth in existing and new business of clients.  Monitor business results of designated clients and anticipate challenges and take proactive measures to accomplish targets. 
    • Develop and maintain detailed MVP plans for key clients. Regularly document all opportunities and sales calls via OnDemand resource.
    • Develop, maintain and cultivate close relationships with decision-makers related to Retail and Card Business as well as with senior managers outside a Bank s Card Center to ensure full outreach to the clients.  Understand clients business strategies, priorities, needs and business processes.
    • Engage in consultative selling with clients.  Aspire to be strategic and innovative during interactions with clients, show how VISA can add value to their business.
    • Represent VISA to the clients and external audiences.
    • Client consulting relating to operations, IT, marketing and compliance
  • Public Relations:
    • Represent VISA by attending and speaking at conferences and business meetings and undertake media/public relations activities in the area, to shape perceptions of Visa s products and services.
    • Develop PR strategies in association with designated PR specialist(s) in order to achieve overall objectives for the country/region, creating the appropriate atmosphere for growing VISA products and services.
    • Assist VISA with its relationships with the central banks, key technology partners and other organisations involved in payment services. Utilise these relationships to influence and change attitudes and decisions of clients and to achieve Visa s goals in the region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Business or equivalent; MBA preferred
  • Extensive sales and retail banking experience and expertise
  • Extensive knowledge of Visa, other payment systems, and card products
  • Proven experience at liaising, presenting to, influencing and negotiating with senior level international and central bankers, regulators, merchants, media, third party vendors and other key external stakeholders
  • Strong sales management experience
  • Excellent project management and budgeting skills
  • Independent worker with guidance in only the more complex situations
  • Interpersonally credible, influential in dealings, both internally and externally
  • Ability to travel
  • Fluency in English and Russian with superior verbal and written communication skills
